IRPA13 Glasgow – Radiating Success!
We are very pleased to announce that over 1150 abstracts have already been accepted for the IRPA13 Congress in May 2012. We have however become aware that there are still colleagues who would like to submit further abstracts, and hence share their experience and knowledge with the international community. To meet this demand we are re-opening the abstract submission system immediately, and it will remain open until 29 February 2012. Since the selection of oral presentations has already been completed, any new abstract submissions can only be considered for poster presentation. We hope to be able to confirm acceptance within two weeks of abstract submission.
Delegates are also reminded that the Congress can offer bursary support to selected delegates. Applications must be made via the website, click here to submit your application. In addition to the normal bursary funding we have been fortunate to secure special funding for delegates with a specific interest in the transport of radioactive material. Applications should be made via the website as above.
Submission of abstracts, full papers and posters must be in English. To submit an abstract please click here. You will be asked to indicate the Scientific Area/Topic for your presentation. Further instructions and forms for the presentation of abstracts, full papers and posters are available on the website.
Please click here to access the poster instructions. If you wish to send your poster in advance for printing in Glasgow, please contact abstracts@irpa13glasgow.com for further information. The cost of printing your poster will be £35.00.

The corresponding author of the paper will be notified of acceptance or rejection and the poster session to which their paper has been assigned within two weeks of submission. Accepted abstracts will be allocated as poster presentations only. Poster presenters must submit a PDF of their poster by 12 March 2012: they may also submit a paper, but this is optional. The requirement for the poster PDF is to support the digital aspects of the Congress as outlined below, and as such this is mandatory, not optional. Poster printing from the submitted PDF for collection at the Congress will be available for an additional fee.
For abstracts and papers to be included in the Congress programme the presenting author must have registered as a delegate by 12 March 2012.
The final programme will be available on the Congress website. The pre-Congress material will include the programme and book of abstracts, all of which will be available electronically on the IRPA13 website. The full papers (including poster papers and poster PDF’s) will also be uploaded to the IRPA13 Congress website and in due course will be published on the IRPA website.

Electronic and Digital Aspects
The Congress will make use of best current electronic and digital technologies, and hence delegates are advised to bring laptops and/or relevant electronic devices with them in order to obtain the best advantage from the Congress. The programme, abstracts, submitted papers and poster PDF’s will all be available for a short period in advance of the Congress and will be WiFi-accessible throughout the Congress. This will permit delegates to optimise their personal programme tailored to their interests.
All PowerPoint presentations will be filed on the website shortly after delivery, together with audiovisual input where available. Refresher Course downloads will only be available to non-attendees on payment of an additional fee.
There will be a limited programme of live webcasts of selected presentations for use by Associate Societies and relevant organisations around the world. These may involve the payment of a fee. The latest information will be kept posted on the Congress website, but organisations interested in receiving live feed are invited to contact the organisers to express their interest.
Modern communication methods, involving approaches such as blogs and tweets, will be used during the principal discussion sessions in order to help identify the key issues and questions. It is intended that these will be visible to all via the website.
All the Congress programme content and output will be migrated to the IRPA website approximately six months after the Congress and will be freely available at that time.
