There will be an exciting social and tours programme for delegates and accompanying persons attending IRPA13. As the congress is to be held in Scotland the programme will have a Scottish theme. As well as the usual events such as a Welcome Reception and a Gala Dinner we promise that you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to additional tours and events. There are also a number of longer trips that can be arranged should you wish to extend your stay and see some of the beautiful Scottish highlands.

Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will be held in the early evening at the Glasgow Science Centre which is situated across the river footbridge from the SECC. The evening will allow delegates to relax and socialise, renewing old friendships and making new ones prior to the Congress week commencing.
Opening Ceremony and Sievert Lecture

The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre in the Clyde Auditorium, it will be followed by The Sievert Lecture.
Young Professionals Reception

The Young Professionals Reception will take place within the SECC at the end of the Scientific Programme. For those who have ticked the young persons box on the registration form we will supply more information.
SRP Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner of the UK host Society for IRPA13, the Society for Radiological Protection, will take place at Arta, the Mediterranean themed bar and club in the heart of the City Centre. The three course meal will be followed by dancing and casino entertainment. Coach transportation from the main hotels will be provided. Intended primarily for SRP members tickets may also be purchased by non members.

NEW VENUE CONFIRMED!
As Oran Mor is now fully booked we are pleased to announce that we have secured an additional venue, The Grand Central Hotel. This event will follow the same format as advertised below and the price will remain the same! To book your place at the dinner you can either secure this during the registration process or by emailing the registration team at registration@irpa13glasgow.com
Delegates and Accompanying Persons will have the option to book a place on the Scottish Evening which will take place on the Tuesday evening. This will be an informal evening at Oran Mor where delegates will have the opportunity to socialise and learn some traditional Scottish dances. Drinks and a light buffet will be served.
Gala Dinner

The IRPA13 Gala dinner will be hosted in true Celtic style at The Thistle Hotel, in the heart of the City. On arrival delegates will be received with a welcome drink prior to being seated and served with a Scottish themed menu. A paying bar will be available after the meal, providing delegates with ample opportunity to socialise and make new acquaintances. Entertainment with a Scottish flavour will be provided during the evening.
Please note tickets are limited, so book your place early to avoid disappointment.
Farewell Wee Dram
Delegates and Accompanying Persons will be invited to participate in a Wee Dram of Whisky to celebrate the end of the Congress. This will take place immediately after the Closing Ceremony in the SECC.
Accompanying Persons Programme
An exciting Accompanying Persons (AP’s) programme will include the following:
- Attendance at the Welcome Reception
- AP meeting area in the SECC throughout the Congress week (Monday to Friday)
- Coffee and tea (Monday to Friday)
- AP Welcome Meeting on the morning of Monday 14 May
- “Hop on Hop off” City Bus ticket
- ½ Day Sightseeing Tour
- Glasgow Delegate Travel Pass
Additional activities will be arranged locally in discussion with AP’s. Accompanying Persons will also be able to book the Scottish Evening, Gala Dinner and any additional sightseeing tours at an additional cost.
